New York—A selection of regularly-scheduled on-site dance and fitness classes will be offered to residents of 66 Rockwell, a ground-up rental development in the BAM Cultural District of downtown Brooklyn. The classes are the result of a partnership forged between The Dermot Company, property managers of 66 Rockwell, and The Mark Morris Dance Group, a local organization that has garnered international acclaim for its work.
The Mark Morris Dance Group will offer classes to members of 66 Rockwell’s EOS Club, a private 20,000-square-foot amenities club that includes indoor and outdoor lounges, an arcade, poker room, comprehensive gym and more.
Classes now include Kukuwa, an African dance workout; Soca, a Mediterranean dance workout; and Yoga; the classes change in response to demand. Personal training and small group sessions are also accessible by club members.
“We recognized that we have incredible amenity spaces and wanted them to be used as much as possible. So we have made programming a big focus for the EOS Club at 66 Rockwell,” Jane Cohen, property manager at The Dermot Company, told MHN.
“We believe that bringing one of the world’s best dance institutions into our building will be incredibly enriching and exciting for our residents. It’s the first of several planned partnerships focused on fitness, arts and culture.”
Brooklyn’s BAM Cultural District is home to many of the finest performing arts organizations, including the Mark Morris Dance Group, Cohen said. She added Dermot Company officials are excited to be able to offer this service to 66 Rockwell residents, strengthening ties with the property’s dynamic neighbors.
Now that the partnership with the Mark Morris Dance Group has been forged, The Dermot Company and 66 Rockwell plan to initiate partnerships with other local organizations as well.
Those partnerships will continue to make possible resident access to exclusive experiences. They will also encourage residents to remain involved in the one-of-a-kind community encircling 66 Rockwell.
“We hope having fun classes in the building will make it easier for our residents to stay active and healthy,” Cohen said. “It’s also a great way for residents to meet each other and build new friendships. In addition to classes, residents can work with experienced personal trainers from Mark Morris Dance Group.”
What quality will this initiative impart to 66 Rockwell marketing efforts? Cohen says The Dermot Group hopes its programming with Mark Morris Dance Group and other local institutions proves attractive to new residents.
But, she added, “Our main goal is to make living at 66 Rockwell as fulfilling and enriching as possible. Our focus is on the happiness of our residents, who we hope will continue living with us for years to come.”
