Preiss Company Breaks Ground on South Carolina Student Housing

The 433-bed development will serve students attending Clemson University and is scheduled for completion by August 2021.

The Preiss Co. has starting construction on Signature Hartwell Village, a 433-bed student housing community located at 13060 Clemson Blvd. in Clemson, S.C. The development is less than a mile away from Clemson University and has a completion date of August 2021. 

The property is situated between Tiger Boulevard and Pendleton Road. It will be part of Hartwell Village, a 45-acre mixed-used development that includes hotels, retailers and restaurants. Signature Hartwell Village will consist of two four-story and two three-story buildings with a 6,034 square foot clubhouse and leasing office.    

The community will offer residents a mix of one-, two-, three and four-bedroom units, each fully furnished with private bedrooms and bathrooms. Features in the units will include smart TVs, laundry and stainless-steel appliances.

Signature Hartwell Village will also feature 7,200 square feet of outdoor amenity space including a jumbotron, TV room, cabana, cornhole court, dog park and pool with in-water lounging deck. Additionally, among the amenity offerings will be fire pits, grills, study rooms, package locker systems and a fitness center.

The development is financed by JLL Capital Markets who obtained a $22.4 million construction loan earlier this month for the project.
