RIVERGATE KW RESIDENTIAL to Oversee The Abbey Apartments

Charlotte, N.C.—Multifamily property management company RIVERGATE KW RESIDENTIAL has been tabbed to manage The Abbey Apartments, a new Charlotte, N.C., rental community. The 260-unit property is located in Madison Park, a popular neighborhood situated between SouthPark and Dilworth.
The developer of The Abbey, Spectrum Properties, undertook the development with the idea of marrying city living with a comfortable neighborhood ambiance. The objective was to have The Abbey blend right in with the neighborhood’s mid-century modern roots and inspiration.
“RIVERGATE KW RESIDENTIAL is the ideal partner to ensure The Abbey’s residents an experience befitting the vision of developer Spectrum Properties Residential,” Jason Fish, vice president of development at Spectrum Properties, told MHN.

The apartment community features a generous amenity package that includes a private, one-acre park with amphitheater seating to be programmed for community events and informal gatherings. Residents will be able to partake of a resort-style saltwater pool, sprawling fitness center, serene hammock garden and outdoor TV lounge with a poolside bar. The apartment community even includes pet amenities, such as a leash-free pet park.
Located within walking distance to Montford Drive and Park Road Shopping Center, The Abbey is just three miles from SouthPark Mall and a 15-minute drive away from Uptown Charlotte. The address is 1415 Abbey Place, between Montfort Drive and Mockingbird Lane, a location that offers excellent accessibility to shopping, dining and entertainment.
“During our strategic planning session for the delivery of first units at The Abbey, the team identified several factors that could impact leasing velocity,” said Holly Casper, regional vice president-Carolinas at Rivergate KW Residential. “Specifically, we did not want to pre-lease in Q4 knowing that uncertainty with weather conditions could impact move-in dates. Instead of pre-leasing, our strategy was to lead generate throughout fourth quarter by launching an aggressive guerilla marketing and PR campaign. The goal was to create interest without having any false starts or lose momentum by having to push back move-in dates.”
The Abbey’s “Live Mad Happy” theme line is a nod to the surrounding nook of Madison Park, according to Fish. “Our goal was to enhance the community with other like-minded residents who want the close-knit vibe that Madison Park has to offer,” he said.
