Lifescapes Designs Landscape for DTLA’s First Completed Condos in a Decade

Lifescapes International finalized the landscape design for Trumark Urban’s TEN50, the first new high-rise condominium project to be completed in downtown Los Angeles in a decade. The property was designed by HansonLA, Handel Architects LLP and Adamson Associates Architects, in collaboration with Lifescapes’ Don Brinkerhoff and Mike Meyers.

The luxury 25-story high-rise featuring 151 luxury residences welcomed its first residents last month. The luxury condominium development is located above 5,800 square feet of ground-floor retail and offers one- and two-bedroom residences, as well as penthouse and two-story penthouse units, priced from the $600,000’s to over $4 million. Other property amenities include a private screening room, a 1,180-square-foot fitness studio and a drone delivery service, complete with the first air-delivery-ready drone landing pad in the country on the sixth floor.

Lifescapes International designed the landscape for the project’s sixth floor outdoor terrace and pool deck. The entertainment-driven environment features bars, fire tables, a therapeutic spa, vibrant water features and ample seating areas surrounded by an urban oasis made up of large tree aloes, Japanese Loquats and Kentia Palms. The center piece is a flowering Naked Coral tree in a raised planter surrounded by multi-level garden spaces, a natural tree wall made of more than 30 large Japanese blueberry trees and a vibrant tapestry of 1,000 woven shrubs of various sizes.

Located at 1050 S. Grand Avenue in the South Park district, the property is close to dining, recreation and entertainment options, including the Orpheum Theater, Staples Center, LA Live and the Los Angeles Convention Center.

Trumark Urban has also recently developed a 250,000-square-foot luxury residential development converted from a dentistry school in San Francisco’s Pacific Heights.
