Leasing Starts at Post Brothers’ The Duchess

The 320-unit luxury apartment building is slated for completion later this year, and it is the firm’s first New Jersey project. Paris Forino and Vijay Kale Architects oversaw the building’s design.

Philadelphia-based Post Brothers announced the start of the leasing process at its luxury residential development, The Duchess. Located at 7601 River Road in North Bergen, N.J., the 320-unit project is slated for completion in fall. Units range between 600 and 2,500 square feet, and rents start at $2,415 per month.

Foreign Touches

The owner selected Australian-born interior designer Paris Forino and Vijay Kale Architects to handle the project’s design. The development will include studio, one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments with European oak flooring, spacious rooms with floor-to-ceiling windows, walk-in closets and energy-efficient appliances. The three-tower building comprises state-of-the-art elements such as:

  • The Water Terrace with a heated lounge pool, hot tub, private cabana beds, direct sun chaises, lounging pods and overviews of the New York City skyline
  • The Veranda, encompassing a yoga deck, sand box, table tennis, covered trellis seating, a fire pit lounge and an outdoor salon with built-in seating and café tables
  • The Rooftop, encompassing the “City View Terrace” and private terraces, open-air lounges and private cabanas with water hookup, an indoor/outdoor salon with a piano bar, wine lounge and kitchen, outdoor grilling stations, gaming, co-working and conference space, as well as a playroom and art studio for children
  • The Wellness Center with modern fitness equipment and interactive Expresso bikes, a cycling studio with instructor-led group fitness, an in-house spa, locker rooms, massage and treatment rooms and a juice bar.

A shuttle service provided by the owner will take the tenants to the New York Waterway ferry, located ten minutes away from Midtown Manhattan. The spot is served by New Jersey transit bus route 158. Neighboring amenities include retailers, restaurants, parks and theaters.

We like to call the residences at The Duchess ‘grown-up homes’ because the entire development is designed to meet the needs of those who rent by choice and therefore demand the type of select amenities that would normally only be found at the most upscale of condominium buildings,” Post Brothers CEO & Co-Founder Michael Pestronk said in prepared remarks.
