- May 06, 2016
Eugene, Ore.—Greystar Student Living has been awarded the management of Arena District Apartments in Eugene, Ore. The 244-bed student housing community is owned by Student Housing-Eugene, LLC, an affiliate of Columbia Investments, LLC.
Formerly known as University House Arena District, the community at 2050 E. 15th Ave. in Eugene, Ore., is eco-friendly, LEED Gold certified by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC).
“We are delighted to offer students a healthy-living option at Arena District that combines contemporary design with a variety of environmentally friendly features,” Greystar Student Living managing director Michelle Fuller told MHN. “Our goal is to exceed the expectations of students by providing services and amenities tailored specifically to fit their needs.”
Arena District Apartments delivers two- and four-bedroom apartment homes that range from 671 to 1,090 square feet in size. Floor plans feature contemporary furniture packages with 42-inch flat-screen TVs, Apple TV, free cable and high-speed Internet.
The interiors offer sustainable Caesarstone countertops, custom cabinetry, under-cabinet lighting, under-mount sinks in kitchens and wood-style plank flooring. Among the green features incorporated into each apartment home are low-VOC paint, energy-efficient lighting, solar-generated hot water, natural ventilation-enabling operable windows and EnergyStar front-loading washers and dryers.
An Internet café with Mac computers, seating areas and a multimedia lounge with gaming stations and billiards tables are among the property’s common-area amenities. Outdoor areas accessible to residents include a courtyard with drought-tolerant landscaping and grilling stations.
Indoor bicycle storage, covered parking, recycling centers and reserved parking spaces for fuel-efficient vehicles, as well as roommate matching and resident social events, are among the extras students can expect at the community.
“We are very excited to announce that we will be adding a new state-of-the-art fitness center, spa and study lounges to the community’s amenity package this year,” said Fuller. “Arena District offers students an ideal location only two blocks away from the University of Oregon, across from Matthew Knight Arena, in the popular Arena District.”
Continuing to act as asset manager on behalf of Columbia Investments is Gerding Edlen Development, the community’s original developer.
“Arena District was built with sustainable materials and includes a variety of green features,” said Gerding Edlen partner Jill Sherman. “The community has social spaces and study areas for students to gather that have been designed with reclaimed post-industrial milled steel panels and cedar wood siding.”
