Essex Realty Group Brokers Chicago Community Deal

A team of Essex Realty Group brokers represented both parties involved in the sale of a 41-unit community in Chicago’s Logan Square neighborhood. Doug Imber, Kate Varde and Clay Maxfield worked on behalf of the seller, while Jim Darrow, Jordan Gottlieb and Jordan Multack closed the $5.4 million deal on behalf of the buyer. The former owner purchased the building in 2015, paying approximately $2.8 million for it.

The property is located at 1627 N. Humboldt Blvd., just steps from Humboldt Park and the “606” Bloomingdale Trail. The unit mix consists of 33 studios and 8 one-bedroom apartments which were completely renovated between 2015 and 2017 together with the lobby, mail room, bike storage and bike repair station. Units feature hardwood-like plank floors, stainless steel appliances, quartz countertops and through-wall heating and cooling units. The rear parking lot offers four off-street parking spaces.

The building is approximately 35 miles from Lakeside Village of Mundelein, a 10-building community in Chicago’s Old Town neighborhood that traded at the beginning of the year with help from Essex. Imber, Varde and Maxfield acted again on behalf of the seller in the transaction.
