Plans Announced for Student Housing at Georgia Tech
Planning is underway on the latest University House property, this one to be built near the campus of the Georgia Institute of Technology, better known as Georgia Tech, in Atlanta.

Atlanta—Planning is underway on the latest University House property, this one to be built near the campus of the Georgia Institute of Technology, better known as Georgia Tech, in Atlanta. The property will be developed by Oak Brook, Ill.-based Inland American Communities Group Inc. (IAC), a wholly owned subsidiary of Dallas-based Inland American Real Estate Trust Inc.
Developed in partnership with Ambling University Development Group LLC, University House will be located on the northwest corner of Spring and 8th Streets in Midtown Atlanta, within walking distance of Georgia Tech. The property is expected to be open for the academic year starting in fall, 2015.
University House will be a 20-story, mixed-use development featuring a total of 268 units and 706 beds in a mix of studio, one-, two-, three- and four-bedroom floor plans. Views of downtown Atlanta, Midtown and the Georgia Tech campus will be showcased from the balconies that will be featured with many units.
Amenities will include a resort-style pool on an elevated terrace, fitness center, business center, city-view top-floor sky lounge and secured parking.

IAC, which manages more than 7,000 beds of student housing across the nation, will operate the property upon completion. As of late March 2013, Inland American Real Estate Trust, Inc. owned 759 properties, including 4,919 conventional multifamily units, and 5,332 student-housing beds. ###
