Join us for our annual celebration as we honor the winners of the Commercial Property Executive Distinguished Achievement Awards and the Multi-Housing News Excellence Awards in smart-access company Latch’s offices in R/GA’s creative, state-of-the-art New York City headquarters space at Five Manhattan West (450 W. 33rd Street). The event will begin at 5:30 p.m.
Our event will kick off with a keynote address and a panel discussion on this year’s theme, “Placemaking: Building Strong Communities.” We’ll be donating all ticket proceeds to Habitat for Humanity. This year’s keynote address will feature: Tom Gilmore, chief strategy officer, Madison Marquette, and our panel will include Stuart Brodsky, director, Center for the Sustainable Built Environment, NYU Schack Institute of Real Estate; Sara Agrest, director of interiors, DattnerArchitects; Daniel Gehman, studio director, Humphreys & Parners Architects; Alison Novak, principal, Hudson; and Charles Thomson, project manager, CetraRuddy.
KEYNOTE SPEAKER: Tom Gilmore, Madison Marquette
Tom Gilmore is chief strategy officer, Retail Solutions and responsible for the company’s full services operating platform including leasing, property management and development services. Madison Marquette provides services to a select group of institutional and private owners of retail, mixed-use, regional mall and community centers throughout the United States, totaling 60 assets and over 20 million square feet.
Moderator: Stuart Brodsky, NYC Schack
Stuart Brodsky is a pioneer in defining the commercial real estate industry’s role and value-enhancing opportunities in environmental stewardship. As a result of his 20-year history of thought leadership, Brodsky has earned international honors for his contributions to the field. Currently, Brodsky leads the development of green and sustainable research and curriculum into NYU’s Masters of Real Estate Development program at the Schack Institute of Real Estate.
Sara Agrest, Dattner Architects
Sara Agrest’s interior architecture focus has been largely influenced by growing up in Manhattan. Guided by an acute awareness of a space’s power to affect mood and behavior, she oversees interior architecture for a variety of the firm’s high-profile projects. She seeks to gain a holistic understanding of how users engage with their environment through nurturing in-depth relationships with clients and leading a design process informed by a comprehensive synthesis of aspirations, use-patterns, and technical and programmatic requirements.
Daniel P. Gehman, Humphreys & Partners Architects
Gehman is a studio director at the Newport Beach and Los Angeles offices of Humphreys & Partners Architects, where the work focuses on market driven high-density mixed-use urban infill and also includes innovative retail and lifestyle office projects. His work history has included every challenge, from programming and master planning to new residential product development. Gehman’s particular strength is working with both clients and design teams to elicit specific project vision, then crafting both narratives and solutions to bring it to life.
Alison Novak, Hudson
Alison Novak, principal, joined Hudson in 2006, where she oversees mixed-income and market-rate developments as well as Hudson’s middle-income equity fund. Under her leadership, Hudson launched its commitment to green building. Novak has overseen the acquisition, design, financing, construction, and completion of a wide range of housing developments ranging from affordable to high-end, home ownership to rental, single-family to high rise. Novak was named one of the “Top 15 Women in Real Estate” in 2015.
Charles Thomson, CetraRuddy
Charles Thomson is an associate at CetraRuddy, an award-winning global architecture, planning and interior design firm founded on the principle that architecture and design must engage the urban fabric while enriching the human spirit. His experience ranges from new construction to adaptive reuse/renovation projects with a particular focus on residential, commercial and hospitality projects in the United States as well as overseas.
