Pierce Education Adds 2,700 Beds to Student Housing Portfolio
Comprising three properties in East Lansing, Mich., Chandler Crossing is valued at more than $100 million.
Pierce Education Properties has acquired Chandler Crossings, a 2,772-bed student housing portfolio in East Lansing, Mich. The portfolio is valued at more than $100 million, according to the buyer. With this acquisition, the company surpassed $1 billion in cumulative student housing acquisitions.
According to Yardi Matrix, Pierce owned the property in the past. In 2013, the company sold the asset to WestPac Campus Communities for $102 million.
Chandler Crossings comprises three properties: The Club (768 beds), The Village (1,068 beds) and The Landings (936 beds). Common-area amenities include an ice rink, swimming pool, spa, basketball court, fitness center, yoga studio and business center.
Located at 3850 Coleman Road, 16789 Chandler Road and 3839 Hunsaker Drive, Chandler Crossings is 2 miles from Michigan State University. The surrounding area has several retail and dining options, including Eastwood Towne Center, which is 3 miles from the development. Capital Region International Airport is within 7 miles of the community.
