Edwardsville, Ill.—Peak Campus Management will manage The Edge, a planned purpose-built student housing asset located near Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville, slated to open in the fall of 2015.

“The Edge is the newest purpose-built project in the market and will feature the latest in state-of-the-art technology and amenities. It also has a differentiated location, with great proximity to campus,” Bob Clark, Peak Campus Management’s president, tells MHN. “Finally, the project will be the first student in the market to be managed by a leading national student housing management firm, which we believe will bring great efficiencies and the latest trends to the market.”

The property will be composed of seven buildings: six apartment buildings and a clubhouse. Upon its completion, The Edge will offer fully furnished two-bedroom, two-bathroom and four-bedroom, four-bathroom floor plans. Units will feature private bedroom and bathrooms, fully furnished with full-size washers and dryers, a dishwasher and other large appliances. Living rooms are furnished with custom-made couches and chairs and a 42-inch flat screen TV.

Community amenities include a resort style tool with tanning area, 24-Hour fitness center, a dog park, two sand volleyball courts, study rooms, bike racks, a yoga studio, game room, clubhouse kitchen, cabana, clubhouse WiFi, party room and monthly residential events.

“This project fits perfectly in line with our strategy of adding high-quality projects and world-class developers to our managed portfolio,” Clark says. “Peak has been an industry leader as it relates to managing new development properties across the country, and we’re excited to bring that level of focus to this market.”

Peak Campus Management currently oversees 65 assets at nearly 35,000 beds, with a combined valuation of nearly $2 billion for investors nationwide. Peak Campus has begun commencing leasing efforts for fall of 2015.

“We believe that the project has a differentiated appeal in that it has both proximity to campus, as well as proximity to area shops, restaurants and other destinations,” Clark says. “We look forward to partnering with these businesses to maximize the living experience for our residents while supporting local companies.”
