Atlanta—Peak Campus is adding to its South Carolina portfolio with the announcement that it will be taking over property management of Aspyre at Assembly Station, a 760-bed student housing community serving University of South Carolina students.
The community is located just minutes from campus and offers one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments. Students have the option to have units come fully furnished. Aspyre also offers amenities such as five outdoor courtyards with two pools, a putting green, open fireplace, sports court, clubroom and covered parking.

“We view (USC) as a tier-one university with compelling long-term enrollment dynamics that will support the need for well-located, well-appointed student housing,” Casey Peterson, senior vice president of Business Development, told MHN.
Atlanta-based Holder Properties developed Aspyre in 2009 for $41.5 million. In 2014, the USC board of trustees also approved a more than $119 million development deal in which Holder would finance, design, build, maintain and operate an academic office building and two student housing facilities for the university. The first phase was completed in August 2015 and included the development of 650 Lincoln, a community offering 584 beds, 25,000 square feet of restaurant and retail space, and two parking garages. This January, the firm topped out the second phase of 650 Lincoln, which will include 297 more beds, a parking deck and additional retail space.
Peak Campus is also building the 660-bed Station at Five Points, which is two blocks from USC and adjacent to Columbia’s Five Points shopping/commercial district. The community is expected to open this fall.
