Minneapolis—VÉLO, an apartment project in downtown Minneapolis, has been competed by the Opus Group. The community includes 101 apartment units and 12,000 square feet of retail space.
VÉLO—which is French for “bicycle” —is located in Minneapolis’ North Loop neighborhood, a bike-friendly area featuring cyclist paths. Red Cow, a Twin Cities-based bar and restaurant, has already announced it will occupy about 5,775 square feet of the new retail space; the property is also close to other restaurants, entertainment venues and retailers.
The neighborhood’s Ride Score (as calculated by the organization Walk Score) is 95 out of 100, and its Walk Score is 83, which means it’s very bikable indeed, and only a little less walkable. The development itself also counts as transit-oriented (beside bicycles and pedestrians) because of its proximity to bus lines.
VÉLO has studios, one- and two-bedroom units, ranging from about $1,200 a month to $2,160 a month. Amenities include an outdoor plaza, a yoga studio and club lounge, outdoor fire pits and grill kitchen, fitness centers and an outdoor terrace with lounging areas and a bocce ball court.
Opus Development Company LLC developed the community, and Opus Design Build LLC was the design-builder. Opus AE Group LLC was the architect and structural engineer of record, partnering with Minneapolis-based Elness Swenson Graham Architects on the design. Aurora Investments LLC is the owner and Sentinel Management Com. manages the building.
