Oden Hughes Breaks Ground on Houston Project

The developer began construction of a 380-unit luxury community in the Clear Lake suburb. With MXCAP as a major investor, the project is slated for completion in mid-2020.

Oden Hughes has broken ground on a 380-unit luxury residential property in the Clear Lake suburb of Houston. Equity company MXCAP is a major investor in the project that is slated for completion in mid-2020. The developer took out an undisclosed four-year construction loan from Texas Capital Bank, according to Harris County records.

Located at the northeast corner of Bay Area Boulevard and Middlebrook Drive, the community will comprise 360 apartments and 20 townhomes on a 21-acre site. The rents for the one-, two- and three-bedroom units are expected to be between $1,100 and $2,300 per month. Amenities at the property will include on-site coworking space, fitness center, pool with cold spas, a dog walking area and dog washing station, jogging trails and a playground.

The community will be close to several major employers such as NASA-Johnson Space Center, Boeing Space Exploration Headquarters, the Port of Houston Bayport Terminal and the University of Houston at Clear Lake. Additionally, the property will be situated within the Clear Creek Independent School System.
