London, England—A brand-new hotel has docked on the banks of the River Thames in London. DoubleTree by Hilton has announced the opening of the DoubleTree by Hilton London Docklands, the brand’s 11th property in the British capital.

Located at 265 Rotherhithe St. on the site of the historic Surrey Commercial Docks on the south bank of the Thames, the 378-key hotel is the only one in the city to have its own pier, and also offers the only dry dock in London. The new DoubleTree by Hilton underwent extensive refurbishment and reflagging before its official opening.

“The DoubleTree by Hilton London Docklands is just a two minute ferry ride across the River Thames to Canary Wharf, one of the world’s major global business districts, and near to international exhibition and event centers such as the O2 Arena and Excel London,” explained John Greenleaf, global head at DoubleTree by Hilton.

A participant in the Hilton HHonors loyalty program, the London Docklands hotel incorporates nearly 10,000 square feet of event and meeting space, fitness center, and an outdoor terrace. Residents can easily access the Canary Wharf Pier with the help of a cross river shuttle ferry provided by the hotel.

The new hotel is conveniently situated just minutes away from the Canary Wharf business and shopping district, the Tower of London, the London Eye and the Westminster Palaces.
