Mill Creek Residential has opened Modera Metro Mineola, a 192-unit luxury apartment community in Long Island, N.Y. The new transit-oriented property in the Nassau County village of Mineola is aimed at working professionals and empty nesters who are in the market for upscale apartments.
The two-building, five-story property is located at 119 Searing Ave., a short walk northeast of the Long Island Rail Road’s Mineola station. Residences will include studios, one- and two-bedroom units with rents ranging from $2,295 for studios to $3,875 for the largest two-bedroom homes.

Each apartment will feature high-end interiors with ceilings at least 9 feet tall, kitchens with moveable islands, bathrooms with quartz countertops and soaking tubs, and a combination of wood-plank style flooring and carpeting. Several homes will include a balcony with courtyard views, while select premium apartments will feature upgraded fixtures and kitchen appliances, lofts and fireplaces. Community amenities include a clubhouse, fitness center and swimming pool.
Transforming the town
Built on land purchased from Corpus Christi Church, the project was approved in 2016 as part of the village’s plan to transform the downtown area into a “live-work-play” destination roughly a 40-minute train ride to Manhattan’s Penn Station. The Bank of New York Mellon extended a $46.6 million construction loan for the project in May 2017, according to Yardi Matrix.
The community is several blocks north of Mill Creek’s other development in the village, Modera Mineola at 140 Old Country Road, which was rebranded as The Allure after its acquisition by Friedkin Realty Group Inc. in March. The 275-unit property changed hands as part of a two-property, $150.5 million portfolio deal that also included the nearby Hudson House at 104 Front St.
