Fort George G. Meade, Md.—Corvias Group, a privately owned, vertically integrated real estate group, announced that Michael Steiner has been promoted to managing director of the company’s military housing division, Picerne Military Housing.
Previously the executive vice president in charge of operations at Fort Meade, Aberdeen Proving Ground, Fort Riley and Fort Bragg, Steiner is now responsible for overseeing the construction, property management and staffing operations of 24,000 units on all seven of Picerne’s military bases. As Picerne expands its portfolio and mission to serve the needs of single service members in addition to military families, Steiner will work directly with the military to ensure that the company continues to fit seamlessly into the fabric of installations and maintain a strong partnership with the military.
Steiner joined Corvias Group in 2006 as a program director handling the day-to-day operational activities for 3,000 homes at Fort Meade. With the addition of Aberdeen Proving Ground and Fort Riley, his responsibilities grew to include the management of 6,826 homes, the construction of 2,125 new homes and the renovation of 3,402 existing homes with a total development budget in excess of $915 million. Steiner has more than 25 years of experience in real estate development and property management, six of which were in privatized military housing.
Steiner graduated from Towson University with a bachelor’s degree in business. He is a past president of the Maryland Multi-Housing Association and founding member of their board of directors.
