Construction has commenced at The Hacienda at Georgetown, a 230-unit, $80 million senior community in Georgetown, Texas. MedCore Partners and TNRG are developing the resort-style campus, with Watermark Retirement Communities overseeing management.

The $115 million project will be developed in two phases. The Hacienda represents the first stage and will provide 125 independent living, 81 assisted living and 24 memory care units. The second phase is set to add 84 independent living units and additional amenities. The campus is expected to provide multiple dining venues, resort pool, wellness center with spa, fitness center and theater.

The 13.2-acre parcel, located on the northwest corner of Williams Drive and Del Webb Boulevard, sits at the southern entrance to Sun City Texas, a 4,100-acre age-restricted community. Downtown Georgetown is roughly 6 miles away. The community will offer rental-only units and is expected to open as early as the end of 2022.

REES Architects was in charge of the architecture and engineering work. Austin-based Studio Six5 provided interior design services, while Pacheco Koch was responsible for the landscaping.

Earlier this year, MedCore acquired a seven-property, 582-unit senior housing portfolio. The communities, spread across Washington and California, were bought in a joint venture.
