Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia—Hyatt Hotel Corporation has announced the opening of Malaysia’s first Grand Hyatt, the Grand Hyatt Kuala Lumpur.

The hotel is a testimony to luxury. Located in the attractive Kuala Lumpur City Centre (KLCC) Grand Hyatt Kuala Lumpur sits right next to Kuala Lumpur Convection Center. The 370 guestrooms and 42 suites have excellent views of the city. Guests are also within walking of city landmarks such as the Petronas Twin Towers, Dewan Filharmonik Petronas, KLCC Park and the Golden Triangle shopping and entertainment district.

Guestrooms feature floor-to-ceiling windows to take in as much natural light as possible, as well as offering expansive views of the city. Rooms are decorated in soothing neutral earth hues and are among the largest in the city, starting at 505 square feet. Rooms feature impressive workstations, complete with highs-speed Wi-Fi and MP3 docking stations. Advanced technology can be found in the large and luxuriously designed guest bathrooms as well, as liquid crystal glass cubes complete with bath and rain shower turn opaque at the touch of a button.

Malaysia’s first Grand Hyatt features over 35,530 square feet of events and meeting space distributed throughout six locations. Among these, which are all oval-shaped and pillarless with an energy efficient crystal chandelier covering the entire ceiling, the Grand Ballroom and Grand Dazzle cater to gala events. A 10,760-square-foot entertainment space can host up to 330 people in a residential-style, private home type setting. Meeting spaces are fitted with projectors, projector screens and MP3 docking stations. Adjacent lounge areas can give space to chef-prepared meals and coffee breaks.

Further dining options include the three onsite restaurants, which are new to the city. Top floor THIRT8 features a restaurant, lounge and wine bar with breathtaking views of the city. The locale serves breakfast, lunch, high tea and dinner. The menu is a combination of Asian cuisine, offering sashimi, sushi, Chinese and seafood, as well as steaks. The ground floor JP teres serves a la carte Malaysian cuisine, with the option of dining indoor or outdoor, on the large terrace surrounded by water features and greenery. Both restaurants feature show kitchens. Second-floor Poolside has an al fresco international and local menu served next to the outdoor swimming pool. An extensive bar completes the location’s appeal.

Another hotel amenity is the 11-room Essa Spa that offers natural wellness treatments. A 24-hour fitness center featuring the most advanced in cardio and gym equipment, a steam room and sauna, a whirlpool batch, an ice fountain and an outdoor swimming pool offer a wide array of relaxation options.

The hotel’s design is signed by award-winning architectural firm Bilkey Llinas Design.

The Grand Hyatt Kuala Lumpur is not only a testimony to hospitality luxury, but green consciousness as well. Its electrical and mechanical elements are above Malaysian hotel efficiency requirements. Furthermore groundwater collected and extracted during construction was reused for onsite cleaning. The Kuala Lumpur location adheres to the Hyatt Thrive corporate responsibility platform and has been certified by the Green Building Index.
