Kansas City, Mo.—Construction has begun on a $65 million senior living and healthcare community in Kansas City, Mo. The development, dubbed Tiffany Springs Senior Community, is the project of Tutera Senior Living & Health Care.

The property will consist of 300 residential units designed for all levels of senior care—independent living, assisted living, rehabilitation services and memory care. Tutera Senior Living & Health Care is developing the continuum-of-care project on 14 acres at 9191 N. Ambassador Drive near St. Luke’s North Hospital. The project is slated for completion in the summer of 2017.

“Tiffany Springs Senior Community will integrate state-of-the-art residential options centered around the latest hospitality and wellness services with convenient access to quality health care services,” said Randy Bloom, president & COO of Tutera Senior Living & Health Care. “We are able to create this exemplary value for seniors by developing a new care and service delivery system for seniors that does not exist elsewhere in the market.”

Amenities within the community include a rehabilitation center with the latest therapy equipment, such as the Alter G anti-gravity treadmills to reduce recovery time, therapy space and a rehabilitation gym with 60-foot glass walls, outdoor space featuring three rehabilitation and healing gardens, multiple restaurant-style dining options, outdoor entertainment spaces, salon and spa services and an indoor pool.

“While most senior communities require a buy-in or large upfront payment, the continuum-of-care model is based on a rental option and gives residents on both sides of the metro area more choice as they consider senior living options,” said Joe Tutera, CEO of Tutera Senior Living & Health Care.

Part of the team working on the Tiffany Springs development are Nearing Staats Prelogar & Jones Architects, Lutjen Inc. and Luke Draily Construction Co. Interior design efforts will be handled by Austin-based studioSIX5.
