Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia—Kempinski Hotels, Europe’s oldest luxury hotel group, and KSK Land Sdn Bhd, a subsidiary of KSK Group Berhad recently announced the signing of a management agreement for the upscale 8 Conlay mixed-use development in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Kempinski will operate and service all three components of the project, which consists of two apartment towers of 56 and 51 stories respectively, and a third, 60-story tower comprising of a 260-unit hotel and 403 residences. Developers will break ground on 8 Conlay in early 2016, and the project is scheduled for completion in 2020.
“This unique project marks Kempinski’s entry into the important Malaysian market and underlines our commitment to expansion in Southeast Asia,” Alejandro Bernabé, CEO of Kempinski Hotels, says. “We are excited about bringing the Kempinski brand to Malaysia, and demonstrating the value of five-star luxury services to branded and serviced residence at 8 Conlay.”
Located at 8 Jalan Conlay in the heart of the Golden Triangle in Kuala Lumpur, the upscale development will feature a total of 1,107 serviced apartment units in towers A and B, as well as 260 luxury hotel units and 341 serviced residential units in the third tower. Towers A and B will be connected via two skybridges, while all three components will be linked via a four-story retail podium offering high-end boutiques and restaurants.
Award-winning architect Hud Bakar of RSP Architects has been selected to handle the project’s design, which is inspired from the Chinese philosophy of Yin and Yang, where apparently opposite forces are actually complementary. The design collective YOO will handle the interior design of the towers, which will offer breathtaking views of the city and the famed Petronas Towers. The property is also in close proximity to the Bukit Bintang shopping district, the Pavilion Kuala Lumpur mall and the Tun Razak Exchange.
The two residential towers will feature five-star luxury facilities and services such as concierge, butler and maid services, 24-hour room service and private chef, housekeeping and laundry, limousine service and arrival preparation service. All three buildings will feature upscale facilities including a spa, gym, swimming pool and various restaurants and bars inside the Kempinski Hotel.
“We are committed to providing the highest quality of products and personalized services to all customers of KSK Land and we believe that our partnership with Kempinski for service and YOO for design of the 8 Conlay Residences will enhance the living experience and long-term investment value for our residents at 8 Conlay,” says Joanne Kua, CEO of KSK Group and managing director of KSK Land.
