Mussoorie, India—JW Marriott Hotels & Resorts announced the opening of JW Marriott Mussoorie Walnut Grove Resort & Spa.

Located in Mussoorie—a hill station in the Dehradun District of the northern Indian state of Uttarakhand—the hotel is the sixth property in the luxury hospitality brand’s India portfolio, their only resort asset in the country so far. Also known as the Queen of the Hills, Mussoorie is situated at the foothills of the Garhwal Himalayan ranges, 180 miles from New Delhi and around 40 miles from the nearest airport in Dehradun, at an average altitude of 6,170 feet. The brand’s five other properties are located in New Delhi, Mumbai, Chandigarh, Pune and Bengaluru.

JW Marriott Mussoorie Walnut Grove Resort & Spa is enclosed by historic walnut plantations and the steep ascents of the Himalayan Mountains. The surroundings not only inspired the hotel’s name but its interior and exterior design as well. The guestrooms feature private balconies, with views of the adjacent hills and gardens.

L’Occitane’s Cedar Spa is also on board with five treatment rooms and an array of cures that include massage, shea butter body wrap and other treatments. Salon by Warren Tricomi, a state-of-the-art fitness center boasts an indoor heated swimming pool. The Den is a 12,000 square-foot entertainment center and kid’s club that includes a two-lane bowling alley, several pool tables, gaming consoles, library, nap areas and a market offering fresh food and beverages. A 3,300 square-foot meeting space completes the list of amenities, encompassing a grand ballroom three breakout rooms and a pre-function space.
