Hanoi, Vietnam—Marriott International is continuing its rapid growth with the recent unveiling of the JW Marriott Hotel Hanoi, a brand new location for the luxury brand that has in the past year made a point of expanding into Southeast Asia. And the trend is set to continue, with Marriott representatives noting that more than half of their around 30 existing projects, are set for the Asian continent.
The JW Marriott Hotel Hanoi is a 450-key facility totaling around 800,000 square feet of space. The eight-story building was designed by architecture firm Carlos Zapata Studio with the idea of creating a reverse skyscraper, inspired by local motifs and the geographic elements of the Vietnamese landscape. The architecture also references the figure of a dragon, one of the most representative national images in Vietnam. The Bitexco Group handled the development of the facility, after it received acclaim on the Bitexco Financial Tower at the heart of Ho Chi Minh City.
Placement-wise, the new hotel boasts a central business district location, and close proximity to the city’s National Convention Center. The facility will be hoping to capitalize on the newfound appeal that the country has seen over the past few years, as well as become a destination for business guests looking to explore or develop economic ventures in a country that has seen good economic growth over the past years.
Amenities at the hotel include a business center and 38,750 square feet of flexible meeting space divided into 17 meeting rooms that include two ballrooms offering around 11,000 and 5,100 square feet of space. These common areas are all located at the ground floor of the JW Marriott Hotel Hanoi, with dedicated parking and easy access. Dining will be available at the French Grill, as well as a soon-to-be opened Cantonese restaurant, while four other venues including the Antidote Bar will offer guests socializing options. The amenity package also includes a fitness center, an indoor swimming pool and a spa by JW.
