Pittsburgh—Pennrose Properties and Ralph A. Falbo Inc. have begun development on a multifamily community called The Gateway at Summerset, located in the Squirrel Hill section of Pittsburgh. The community, which will include six buildings, will open its first building in April and the other five will open in May.

The Gateway at Summerset will include 131 units. Of these units, 52 will be one-bedroom layouts, and 79 will be two-bedroom units, which will be approximately 954 square feet, on average.

The apartments in the community will feature 9-foot ceilings, open floor plans, a custom paint program, stainless steel appliances, breakfast bars, programmable thermostats, balconies, walk-in closets and full-sized washers and dryers.

Amenities for The Gateway at Summerset include a community center with a catering kitchen, fitness center, pool, playground and a half basketball court. Residents will also have access to 165 off-street parking spaces, as well as additional spaces along nearby Parkview Boulevard. There will also be small parks and walking trails close to the community.

“The Gateway at Summerset is a unique addition to the Pittsburgh market,” Mark Dambly, president, Pennrose Properties, tells MHN. “When laying out the plan for the latest addition to Summerset at Frick Park, we chose to focus on the use of green space in the overall community design. Through the inclusion of a number of residential parks and walking trails and incorporating easy access to the hiking and biking trails of Frick Park, we created a community to fit our residents’ active lifestyle.”
