Bahamas—The largest privately owned island in the Bahamas will soon be up for grabs as Concierge Auctions recently announced that the property will be on the block this May. The property in question is Innocence Island, which will be sold to the highest bidder at or above a $10 million reserve in cooperation with George Damianos of Damiano’s Sotheby’s International Realty.
The auction will be held on May 15th at Trump SoHo New York. Innocence Island originally had a price tag of $55 million. Attendance will be via RSVP only and bidders are required to pre-register in order to participate.
Innocence Island offers potential buyers a number of features that are either unique or extremely rare in the archipelago. One of the most prominent amenities on the island is the private airstrip, one of the few such fixtures in the Bahamas, one that is permitted with its own pilot code. The strip offers the potential owner easy access to the property. Other luxury features include the spectacular residence on the island, long stretches of beach, as well as 681 acres of native fruit trees, tropical foliage and terraced hills.
The island is part of the exclusive Exuma chain of islands, many of which are owned by A-list celebrities such as Johnny Depp and Tim McGraw. Although relatively secluded, Innocence offers great access by boat to Little Exuma, the main island in the chain, where guests can explore some of the Bahamas’ cultural heritage.
The residence located on the island is of course a high-end property totaling 3,000 square feet of space. The six-bedroom, six and a half-bathroom is located on one of the island’s highest points, offering panoramic views of Innocence Island and its surroundings. The property also features a hillside bungalow property that includes a fitness center and meditation deck overlooking the bay. The island offers guests many spots that allow for a number of activities such as deep sea fishing, kayaking, paddle boarding, hiking, jogging and bird watching on the island’s 15 miles of nature trails.
According to Concierge Auctions, the property has only had four previous owners. The Founder and President of the company, Laura Brady, notes that Concierge Auctions is looking forward to expanding its overseas growth and says, “this sale will further demonstrate that our action solution is undoubtedly the smartest way to buy and sell the world’s finest property.”
