The $49 million project known as The Vue will consist of one- and two-bedroom luxury apartments, 10,000 square feet of ground-floor retail space and a multi-level parking garage. “The Vue reflects the growing demand for luxury apartments in desirable infill areas where young professionals and empty nesters alike can live, work and play. Residents will have walkable access to nearby restaurants, nightlife, eclectic shops, fitness and cultural activities,” Ora Reynolds, the company’s president & CEO, said. “The Overland Park Farmer’s Market, Matt Ross Community Center, historic Rio Theater and Overland Park’s newly designated Downtown Arts District are all just steps away.”
Amenities will include a resort-style pool with lush landscaping, outdoor grills and conversation nooks, cyber café, game room, bicycle parking, fitness center, clubhouse and dog park.
“The Vue will be designed to fit in with the existing style and vibe of Downtown Overland Park while adding fresh and innovative features that will make the building a prominent addition to the area,” added Brenner Holland, Hunt Midwest’s vice president. “This high-visibility location will be a great addition to the revitalization of Downtown Overland Park, bringing several hundred new residents to the heart of the district.”
The development team is formed of award-winning architectural firm Hoefer Wysocki and McPherson Contractors who are partnering on an integrated project delivery method with Smith & Boucher, Bob Campbell & Co., Land3 Studio and Olsson Associates. The project is slated for completion in 2018.
