Hunt Cos. has broken ground on The Caroline Eastside Apartments, a 384-unit multifamily project in Richardson, Texas.

The development benefits from HUD funding as well as financing from Walker & Dunlop. With KWA Construction serving as general contractor, the community is expected to come online in early 2025.

Designed by HEDK Architects, The Caroline Eastside will encompass studio, one, two and three-bedroom market-rate apartments. Interiors will feature luxury finishes, high ceilings and eco-friendly appliances. Common-area amenities are slated to include a clubhouse, two-story gym, swimming pool, dog park and spa, as well as an on-site coworking space. ZRS Management will provide leasing and management services.

The community is taking shape at 1735 N. Greenville Ave., adjacent to The Mallory Eastside, another Hunt development. The property is roughly 15 miles from downtown Dallas and 17 miles from Dallas Love Field Airport within Richardson’s telecom corridor. The University of Texas at Dallas is less than 3 miles away.

Mayor Voelker stated in prepared remarks that housing demand in Richardson has been increasing due to the rising number of tech companies operating in the region. Hunt Senior Vice President Ben Wullschlager added that The Caroline will further the firm’s plan for the city’s eastside.

In May, Hunt partnered with StreetLights Residential for the development of a luxury community in Houston. Delivery is also expected in 2025.
