Home Improvement Platform Emprove Launches in Vegas
The platform aims to provide transparency between renters and contractors, enabling the users on both ends to engage openly about what projects they create and bid on.
Las Vegas-based Emprove Inc. has launched a new home improvement online platform that aims to provide or improve transparency between consumers and contractors. Emprove provides homeowners, building managers or contractors with a user-friendly interface, which enables visualization and produces cost estimates for projects.
For renters looking to upgrade their apartment, Emprove works in three stages. The user chooses a target budget and picks out the specific improvements they wish to make to their living space. The platform has visual functionalities that facilitate this process, such as importing a picture of a wall and browsing through different paint options. Users search and pick whatever improvements they see fit and have the possibility to specify which designs are to their tastes.
After the first project draft is completed, Emprove’s proprietary data engine creates a scope and an itemized cost estimate for it, based off the user’s preferences and established budget. The software also learns from a user’s preferences and provides design suggestions which fit. The third part is where Emprove generates a request-for-proposal package and delivers it to the marketplace of vetted contractors. A $20 fee is charged for this, but is fully refunded once the project is picked up.
On the contractor side, the platform allows users to bid on projects and the platform administers the process. A competitive market is established, where contractors and homeowners engage with one another in a transparent manner.
“Las Vegas is the ideal place to launch Emprove as it benefits from the renewed job creation and population growth that are driving the real estate market and generating record levels of home improvement. Consumers are often uneducated about, and intimidated by, home improvement and need a process that demystifies the costs of their dream projects and helps them responsibly engage with contractors,” said James Noel, CEO & co-founder of Emprove, in a prepared statement.
