Hines Tops Off Chicago-Area Tower

Hines has topped out One Oak Brook Commons, the first apartment development ever built in the Chicago suburb of Oak Brook, Ill. The project is a 17-story, Class A high-rise featuring 250 apartments and a secured parking deck with 420 parking spaces.
The property stands at the hub of Oak Brook Commons, a 16.5-acre master-planned mixed-use project also being developed by Hines.
Apartments at One Oak Brook Commons will average 1,055 square feet in size. Amenities will include an amenity deck featuring a heated pool. The surrounding Oak Brook Commons mixed-use development, being developed on the site formerly occupied by world headquarters of McDonald’s, is north of 22nd Street and directly adjacent to Oakbrook Center. It will offer shopping, dining, creative timber offices, condominium and hotel developments, as well as a new public park called The Pitch.

Oak Brook is centrally located in Chicago’s Near West suburbs, and contiguous to the I-88 and I-294 Tollways, leading west to Iowa, north to Wisconsin and south to Indiana.
The village is situated about 13 miles from Chicago’s Midway International Airport, 16 miles from O’Hare International Airport and 20 miles west of downtown Chicago. The Hinsdale station on the area’s Metra Commuter Rail System can be accessed in 12 minutes. Elmhurst College is 12 minutes away, College of DuPage 17 minutes distant.
Antunovich Associates is the architect of record for One Oak Brook Commons. W.E. O’Neill is serving as the development’s general contractor.
First move-ins are scheduled to take place early next year. Last month, Hines inked Douglas Elliman Development Marketing to market the Midtown Manhattan condominium it is co-developing.
