Herman & Kittle Properties has opened Riverside Trail Apartments, a 248-unit community in Columbus, Ohio, catering to residents earning at or below 60 percent of the area’s median income. The developer started construction on the $50.6 million project in 2019, financing the development with tax-exempt bonds issued by The Ohio Housing Finance Agency.

Located at 5795 Chatterton Road on the east side of Columbus, the pet-friendly community consists of two- and three-story buildings. The unit mix features one- to four-bedroom apartments averaging 1,136 square feet, with 13 fully accessible ADA units. Built to the National Green Building Bronze Standard, the community includes amenities such as an outdoor pool, fitness center, game room, cybercafé and dog park.

Riverside Trail is some 11 miles from downtown, near the intersection of interstates 70 and 270. There are several retail and dining options available within a 2-mile radius, alongside Brice Road. Nafzger Park and Noe-Bixby Park are both less than 2 miles from the community.

In June, Herman & Kittle received a $59.3 million financing package for the development of a 210-unit affordable project in Indianapolis. Upon completion, the community will cater to adults aged 55 and older.
