Fuksas Architects Design ‘Inhabited Sculptures’ for Italian Golf Resort

Cagliari, Italy—Italy Sotheby’s International Realty launched the exclusive sale of Is Molas Golf Resort, a private 300-acre, multi-generational resort community located on the southern coast of Sardinia, Italy, in close proximity to the region’s capital, Cagliari.

The property, designed by architects Massimiliano and Doriana Fuksas, offers four prototypes of eco-friendly, open concept villas with access to an 18-hole world-class golf course designed by former professional golf legend, Gary Player. The first four villas will be unveiled this summer, while another 11 more are slated for fall 2016, totaling 15 villas to complete phase one.

“Is Molas is an experimental project which works with the elements of nature,” said Massimiliano Fuksas in a prepared statement. “These villas take the form of eroded structures which are shaped by the wind with open, free-flowing designs allowing both sun and wind to penetrate the walls of the villas.”

The four villas—Villa Palas, Villa Luxi, Villa Nea and Villa Arenada—represent a modern interpretation of the Nuraghe structures. “The project is a reminder of the fragments and the archaeological remains of the Nuragic civilization,” said Massimiliano. “With this project man returns to live inside inhabited sculptures that are the new forms of design, surpassing the box, the cage, the closure, and experiencing a sense of freedom.”

The villas range in size from 2,953 to 8,858 square feet and in price from $2.4 million to $5.2 million. Sales are already underway. Each villa comes fully furnished with exclusive furniture designed in collaboration with the luxury Italian company Moroso, and incorporates authentic Murano glass elements from internationally regarded Italian glass company Venini.

When completed, the project will total 150 villas complemented by a vast array of amenities and services, including: a private beach club; topnotch restaurants and boutiques; spa and fitness center; sports area with tennis courts, soccer, basketball, and beach volleyball; Sardinia’s only bike park offering numerous bike paths for all levels; a kids club; gardening services; cleaning and housekeeping services; 24/7 security; monthly technical repair and upkeep; kitchen stocking services featuring locally grown products; personal chefs and butlers; pet care; and medical assistance.
