MHN Executive Council: Top Things Multifamily Execs Want to Learn About
There's always room to improve! Here's some inspiration on areas to explore.

You might know a lot about the industry. But there’s always more to learn! This month, the MHN Executive Council shares the top three things they want to explore this year. Hopefully it’ll inspire your learning, as well!

Fired Up
As a life-long learner, where do I start? This year I am particularly interested in better understanding fire and building codes that guide the efficient and safe management of real estate. I am also fascinated by AI and all that it can accomplish for our industry. Lastly, I plan to further my understanding of the benefits of pets in housing to bolster our pet-inclusive initiatives. —K David Meit, Principal, Oculus Realty

Feeling at Home
As real estate continues to evolve, the key to the future is—as it has always been—building communities where residents feel a true sense of home. More than ever, multifamily operators need to create spaces where people feel connected, supported, and inspired. This year, I’m particularly interested in exploring three key areas that contribute to that vision:
- How Amenities Can Evolve into True Community-Building Tools: The industry has long debated which amenities provide the most value, but the real question is how to activate them to foster belonging. A deeper understanding of how properties can use data to refine their amenity offerings—identifying what truly drives engagement, improves retention, and strengthens the resident experience—is essential. What experiences create the most meaningful connections? How can amenities evolve beyond space into service that enhances both lifestyle and community?
- The Intersection of Wellness, Sustainability, and Social Connectivity: Amenities are no longer about what’s trendy—they need to improve residents’ well-being in a meaningful way. Examining how wellness and sustainability can be seamlessly integrated into multifamily living—whether through mental well-being initiatives, fitness programming, or eco-conscious design—will be key. How can multifamily communities go beyond traditional wellness spaces to create a more holistic and human-centered resident experience?
- How Technology Can Enhance, Not Replace, Human Connection: AI, automation, and data-driven insights are transforming multifamily operations—but how can technology enhance the resident experience without losing the personal touch? Understanding the role of predictive analytics, smart amenities, and digital engagement tools in making living experiences feel more intuitive, effortless, and community-driven will be essential. Where is the balance between tech-driven efficiency and human connection? —Brian Buccino, President & COO, North America, LIVunLtd

Strengthen Strategies
As The REMM Group looks ahead, we’re focused on expanding our knowledge in three key areas to enhance resident experiences and strengthen property management strategies.
- AI & Data-Driven Personalization: We are continuing to explore how data analytics can help us better understand and be responsive to resident needs while enhancing efficiency. Hyper-personalization—such as customized resident portals and engagement strategies—will allow us to create more tailored and seamless experiences. To find the best solutions, we are piloting several AI software solutions to streamline leasing, resident communication, collections, renewals, work orders, and inspections.
- Advanced Fraud Prevention: With fraud tactics becoming more sophisticated, we’re eager to deepen our understanding of AI-driven verification tools and predictive analytics. These technologies can help detect risks early, ensuring more secure leasing processes and protecting property owners from potential losses.
- Cybersecurity Best Practices: As digital threats evolve, safeguarding tenant and property data is a top priority. We’re committed to learning the latest cybersecurity strategies to stay ahead of risks and maintain the highest level of data protection.
By focusing on these areas, we’ll continue delivering secure, innovative, and resident-focused property management solutions. —Susan McPeak, Corporate Ambassador, The REMM Group

Tech Changes
- AI-Powered Real Estate Intelligence: AI is no longer an emerging trend; it’s a competitive necessity. I’m focused on how machine learning, predictive analytics, and automation can optimize single-family rental operations. From AI-driven pricing models to advanced resident experience personalization, I want to explore how we can fully integrate AI to drive efficiency, reduce costs, and increase NOI. The goal is to create data-driven, self-learning ecosystems that make our operations smarter, more scalable, and more resilient.
- The Integration of Health Tech in Residential Living: The future of housing extends beyond providing a place to live, it’s about enhancing both quality of life and longevity. I’m exploring how real estate can seamlessly integrate emerging health technologies to create smarter, wellness-focused living environments. Our resident app offers a unique opportunity to lead this shift, pioneering a proactive health model that personalizes wellness, optimizes home features, and promotes healthier lifestyles. By prioritizing health-driven innovation, we can redefine the resident experience, differentiate our communities, and drive long-term retention.
- Capital Markets and the Shifting Institutional Investment Landscape: In a rapidly shifting economic landscape, capital is becoming more strategic, selective, and data driven. I’m focused on understanding how institutional investors are reallocating funds, adapting to volatility, and leveraging alternative financing structures to maximize returns. Private equity movements, emerging investment vehicles and innovative capital deployment models are redefining the flow of institutional money into real estate. By staying ahead of these shifts, we can secure the right capital partners, unlock new growth opportunities and establish a resilient, future-proof investment strategy that positions us at the forefront of the industry. —Jordan Kavana, Founder & Chairman, ARK Homes for Rent
