Keeping Pace

When we started the business over 35 years ago we worked exclusively designing model homes and the services and players were often very siloed. Not only has the landscape changed for builders and developers, but we’ve changed to keep pace and stay ahead by anticipating what’s next. This year is no exception. We’re focusing on delivering a more streamlined process for our clients by offering them services and solutions from day one as well as before the project starts.

Our top goal is to scale some of our new offerings this year including helping our developer clients get a yes from investors, continuing to design interiors that provide an elevated branded living experience and selecting and installing quality FF&E. We want to continue to push the boundaries on how we can bring even more value to our clients so they no longer have to juggle baton passes between interior design, branding, procurement and installation professionals on a project. —Mary Cook, President, Mary Cook Associates

Michael Zaransky

Take Advantage

My top goal for 2025 is to take advantage of capital market dislocation and acquire quality multifamily assets in what, I believe, is a generational buying opportunity. Purchasing newer properties in supply constrained, high occupancy, markets at below replacement cost is a unique buying opportunity and a “smart money” real estate investment play. —Michael Zaransky, Founder & Managing Partner, MZ Capital Partners

Resident Satisfaction

Our top goal for 2025 is to continue setting the standard for excellence in the Build-to-Rent (BTR) and single-family rental (SFR) sectors by focusing on resident satisfaction, community engagement and operational efficiency. A key part of this goal is leveraging our resident app. Prioritizing quality, sustainability and a resident-first approach, we’re redefining what it means to call a rental property home. —Jordan Kavana, Founder & Chairman, ARK Homes for Rent

Focus on What Matters

My top goal for the new year is to strategically plan my speaking engagements and travel to maximize my influence in the rental housing industry while also balancing my demanding schedule as a Mom of four; navigating life with a special needs child. I aim to choose events that align with my mission of advancing housing quality, operational policy and the performance of the great people that manage it. By focusing on key conferences and meetings, I can connect with industry leaders and policymakers who are pivotal in shaping the future of rental housing. —Stephanie Anderson, Senior Director, Grace Hill

Intentional Growth

In 2025, my top goal is to double down on intentional growth. As we scale, I’m deeply curious about how we can expand while keeping our culture vibrant, our teams aligned and our core values at the heart of everything we do. It’s a challenge, but one that’s worth tackling because a thriving culture is what separates good organizations from exceptional ones.

I’m also excited to explore new vertical markets for our solutions. Innovation and the opportunity to bring impactful products to new industries have always fueled me. After a decade in this space, I’m just as energized about launching products that make life better for people and communities. Exploring new vertical markets and finding the right ways to add value is an exciting challenge I’m looking forward to tackling.

Finally, as a remote-first leader, I’m committed to refining our approach to hiring and communication. We’ve built a phenomenal team, but there’s always more to learn about fostering connection and engagement across geographies. Recruiting exceptional talent while ensuring everyone feels empowered and connected is a top priority.

For me, 2025 is all about thoughtful growth—scaling in ways that strengthen our culture, expanding our product impact and creating meaningful connections across the team and with the people we serve. —Jonathan Treble, Founder & CEO, WithMe, Inc.
