Darlington, England—Dainton is adding more storage space to County Durham.

Dainton Self Storage, a subsidiary of Devon-based Dainton Group Services Ltd., has completed a major overhaul of a former engineering building in the North East of England. The company spent £500,000 ($757,407) to convert a run-down office building formerly occupied by engineering firm Amec Foster Wheeler into a three-story self-storage facility, according to The Northern Echo.

Located off Yarm Road in Darlington, with immediate access to the A66, the new facility incorporates both storage and office space for rent. The building features 24-hour CCTV for security, direct vehicle access to loading bays and trolleys for customer use, and is just a few minutes’ drive from the Darlington town center.

Dainton currently operates eight locations in Southwest England and Wales, and has three more facilities under development, InsideSelfStorage reports. The company recently opened a £900,000 ($1.3 million) self-storage facility in Plymouth, England, as part of a £1.8 million ($2.7 million) acquisition of the Drake Mill Business Park by Dainton Group Services.
