Daikin has introduced its ATMOSPHERA R-32 heat-pump system that provides efficient cooling and heating while using just one-third of the Global Warming Potential of most common refrigerants.

The single-zone, ductless unit delivers up to 100 percent rated heating capacity at 5 degrees Fahrenheit wet bulb temperature and continuous operation as low as -13 degrees Fahrenheit WB. The unit also features a hybrid cooling technology that controls humidity and allows for continued dehumidification even after the unit has reached the target temperature.

ATMOSPHERA’s Intelligent Eye technology detects movement in a room; when the unit senses that the room has been empty for 20 minutes, it adjusts to a preset energy-saving level.

The R-32 system automatically dries the indoor unit’s interior to reduce the buildup of condensation, while a removable drain pan supports easy maintenance. The indoor unit is also Wi-Fi enabled and can be operated from the Daikin Comfort Control App.

Daikin offers indoor and outdoor R-32 systems in four sizes from 9,000 to 24,000 BTUs. Indoor units operate with a wireless controller and are compatible with smart thermostats for S21 single- and multi-zone systems.
