Gdynia, Poland—Courtyard by Marriott is expanding in Europe. The brand owned by Marriott International has recently announced the opening of two new hotels, in Poland and the Netherlands.

The Polish hotel is the largest of the two. It is located in Gdynia, a city on the south coast of the Baltic Sea. Courtyard Gdynia Waterfront, as the property is called, offers 200 rooms. These include 134 Premium rooms, 54 Standard rooms, 11 Business rooms and one suite. They are all equipped with LCDs, moveable desks and ergonomic chairs. Courtyard Gdynia Waterfront also features nine meeting rooms, including a 5,300-square-foot ballroom. The latter can be divided into four areas, with a foyer and adjacent terrace.

The second hotel is located in Amsterdam. It is called Courtyard Amsterdam Arena Atlas and it is located in the Amsterdam Zuidoost business district, close to the city center, the Amsterdam Schiphol Airport, and numerous popular attractions, such as the Amstedam Arena. The property has 21 Premium rooms and 154 Standard rooms. It also includes six meeting rooms, the largest of which can accommodate 140 guests.

Courtyard’s two new properties will operate under a franchise agreement with Scandinavian Hospitality. They will showcase the brand’s new European hotel design, which combines business functionality with a spacious, uncluttered style. GåRD Nordic Kitchen will serve freshly prepared food, inspired by traditional Scandinavian recipes, in both hotels.

The opening of the two hotels represents just another step in the Courtyard’s expansion plan. The brand reached an important milestone in March, when it celebrated the opening of its 1,000th hotel, the Courtyard Washington Walla Walla. And it said it intends to expand into 40 more countries this summer. Courtyard is Marriott’s second largest revenue generator and it has the largest global rooms pipeline across the Marriott portfolio.
