Housing Trust Group (HTG) has completed construction of the first phase of Hammock Ridge, an affordable housing development in central Florida. Work began on the property’s 104 units in February 2017. HTG plans to expand the community next year by adding another 92 affordable, age-restricted apartments.
Located at 8234 Omaha Circle in Spring Hill, Fla., the property’s three, four-story buildings sit two and a half miles east of U.S. Route 19. A nearby bus stop served by Hernando County’s transportation system enables access throughout the wider area. A number of retail options neighbor the community, including a Save-A-Lot grocery store and a Walgreens.
Wealth of amenities
The asset features a mix of one-, two- and three- bedroom apartments, ranging in size from 673 to 1,162 square feet. HTG stated that monthly rents will be between $287 and $704. Community amenities include a clubhouse, fitness center, computer lab, gaming station and resort-style swimming pool.
“Hammock Ridge…will create significant economic benefit for the area,” said Matthew Rieger, president & CEO of HTG, in a prepared statement. “Not only will the development serve the much-needed housing market for working families, this community will generate a total of $140,000 in tax revenues for the county.”
