Caroma’s innovative line of high efficiency bathroom fixtures is making waves in the green build circle. One of the most interesting products is the ‘Profile Smart’ fixture that combines a dual-flush toilet with a hand-wash basin and faucet. The design redirects sink water that normally goes down the drain into the toilet reservoir for the next flush. The multi-purpose fixture has already been granted the Building Products third annual Green Product Award.
Another high efficiency product is the Caroma Flow Showerhead, which uses up to 10 gallons less water per 10-minute shower than a standard showerhead. Yet, thanks to a precision engineered nozzle, the showerhead still produces a uniform, powerful spray. The unit features an adjustable spray range and it easy to install in both retrofit and new construction projects.
Among the line of water smart toilets (without the built-in sink) is the modern Sydney Smart 305 1-Piece Water Closet, one of the lowest consuming toilets on the market. The half-flush uses just 0.8 gallons of water. A full-flush uses 1.28 gallons.
Founded in 1941, Caroma provides water saving solutions to residential and commercial markets. The Australian-based company introduced the world’s first dual-flush toilet system in 1982. Caroma estimates that its toilets have saved up to 4.8 billion gallons of water in the United States alone.
