Campus Advantage will take over management of a trio of student housing properties near Kansas State University, a public institution with more than 18,000 undergraduates in Manhattan, Kan. One community, 12B Lofts, was completed last year. The other two, 11B Lofts and Avenue M, are under development and expected to be completed by the fall of 2020.

The developer of all three properties is Back Nine Development, which is owned by TJ Vilkanskas. Upon completion, the combined properties will operate as one, 239-bed community. The five-story 12B Lofts is located at 1122 Bluemont Ave., one block east from campus and across the street from the Aggieville bar and restaurant district. 11B Lofts will serve as a companion building to 12B and the two properties will be linked via a raised walkway.

Campus Advantage will manage the entire three-building community with its Students First Experience platform, which encompasses leasing, online services, dedicated 27/4 team members and a variety of social activities and community service activities. Marketing agency Catalyst will handle the community’s branding efforts.

Campus Advantage said in a statement that it had managed another community serving the public university and surrounding colleges from 2007 to 2016. The company has a portfolio of 65 student properties across 25 states, according to its corporate website, and was tapped to manage a 166-unit, 567-bed student community near the University of Texas at Austin in April.
