BRIDGEÂ Housing has appointed Susan Johnson to chief operating officer. In this newly created role, Johnson will aim to connect strategy, operations and procedures across the organization. As executive vice president & COO, she will maintain a focus on current goals and objectives, as a complement to the CEO’s focus on longer-term strategic issues. She will continue to have operational oversight of asset management (compliance and portfolio), property management and community development and programs.
34-year tenure
Johnson has been with the company since 1983, in multiple capacities, including corporate secretary, vice president of administration and, most recently, as executive vice president. She had various functional roles in human resources, fundraising, accounting, compliance, leasing and insurance risk management.
“Susan’s thoughtful, solution-oriented approach has resulted in systems that have strengthened BRIDGE and the industry alike,” said Cynthia Parker, BRIDGEÂ president & CEO, in prepared remarks. “She is a nurturing leader and mentor who has an innate drive to understand complex problems, improve processes and share best practices.”
BRIDGE Housing has been active in the Bay Area, launching the second phase of its Marea Alta project, which will bring a total of 200 affordable units to San Leandro, Calif.
