Santa Barbara, Calif.—Yardi announced today that Boyd Management Inc. (BMI), an affordable housing management firm based in South Carolina, has begun the process of upgrading its software and database hosting service to Yardi SaaS Select. BMI has also initiated implementation efforts to add Yardi Procure to Pay™ and Yardi Payment Processing™ to its Yardi Voyager®property management and accounting platform.
“We have been a Yardi-hosted client since 2008, and have been pleased with Yardi’s hosting services,” said Teresa M. Helms, senior project manager for BMI. “Migrating to SaaS Select opens up new possibilities to expand our Voyager platform and take advantage of the browser-agnostic features of Yardi Voyager 7S.”
With Yardi SaaS Select, BMI has its own installation of the application and its own secure database, providing the ability to control versions and upgrades. BMI can create and maintain custom tables and reports and standard interfaces within the SaaS environment.
BMI oversees the daily operations of over 350 residential properties with more than 12,500 units located in five states across the southeastern United States. Ninety-five percent of BMI’s properties include affordable housing units developed with Rural Development, Low Income Housing Tax Credit, and HOME fund subsidies. “Compliance reporting for these subsidies is very effective with Voyager,” said Helms. “We can provide detailed reports to our housing development partners and auditors without having to print stacks of paper because the data is now so much more readily available.”
The expansion of BMI’s Yardi Voyager platform also includes implementation of Yardi Payment Processing. BMI expects this addition to create efficiencies for residents by offering new rent payment options. “Many of our residents have asked about the possibility of making payments using debit cards,” said Helms. “Adding Yardi Payment Processing will enable us to offer our residents that convenience.”
