Jersey City, N.J.—Co-developers BLT and Metrovest have unveiled their latest building, The Paramount, within the companies’ Jersey City, N.J., development The Beacon, following on the heels of successful lease-ups of its two other buildings, Mercury and Orpheum, earlier this year.
“The Beacon’s uniquely-designed residences, spectacular views of the Hudson River and Manhattan skyline, considerable outdoor space and attractive price points continue to drive leasing activity at the community,” says Beth Polychrones, general manager at The Beacon. “With the first two buildings stabilized, we’re now excited to open The Paramount which takes The Beacon’s architectural significance and splendor to a new level with soaring spaces, an elaborate use of Art Deco details and a remarkable two-story lobby that creates an entrance like no other.”
According to a document on the community’s website, The Beacon consists of 10 Great Depression-era buildings that have been or are in the process of being restored including two condo buildings of Rialto and Capital, which contain 315 residences that have already been sold, as well as the two previously mentioned rental buildings, the Mercury and Orpheum, which include 126 and 158 units, respectively. Management at The Beacon is provided by Greystar.
At 23 stories, The Paramount adds another 232 rentals to The Beacon community and features a wide array of exclusive community amenities including a state-of-the-art fitness center with separate yoga room, a restroom with lockers and showers, a lounge area, as well as a Wi-Fi-equipped clubroom on the first floor that includes a projection screen TV and Wi-Fi. Additional lounge areas are located on the mezzanine level, and the 19th is host to a sunroom/conservatory and an outdoor terrace that offers views of the Manhattan skyline and Statue of Liberty.
The Paramount offers studio, one- and two-bedroom floor plan options with rents starting at about $1,700. The residences include 14-foot lofted ceilings, oak plank flooring and gourmet kitchens with 42-inch espresso-finished cabinets, granite countertops and Energy Star-rated stainless steel appliances. Bathrooms include marble vanity tops with modern brushed nickel lighting fixtures, and each unit offers central heating and air conditioning and washers and dryers.
The community also offers valet and self-parking options in addition to a courtesy shuttle service to the Grove Street and Exchange Place PATH/Ferry Stations. Residents have easy access to Jersey City’s downtown district and variety of public transit centers.
