Bilco Introduces Fall Protection Grating System
The panel is easy to install on existing access doors—regardless of manufacturer—and meets all OSHA fall protection requirements.
Bilco’s Fall Protection Grating
The Bilco Co., a specialty access products manufacturer, has introduced an easy-to-install system that allows workers to safely inspect pumps and monitor underground areas. Bilco’s fall protection grating system installs on existing floor access doors, regardless of manufacturer.
The product features aluminum grating with a safety-yellow powder coat finish for added durability. The stainless steel hardware is corrosion resistant and the grating is equipped with a stainless steel automatic hold-open device that locks the panel in the open position. A padlock hasp is also included for added security, and a unique pintle hinge design allows the fall protection grating panel to open to a full 90-degree position to maximize the area available for access.
The grating system is designed for quick and easy installation. After providing Bilco with the measurements of the frame opening, the company sends the field installation kit along with mounting hardware. According to the manufacturer, the inexpensive system can be installed in 30 minutes.
Bilco’s grating system meets and even exceeds the fall protection requirements established by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration. The product comes with a 25-year manufacturer’s warranty.
