Azura Living Develops Milwaukee Senior Community
The property will offer assisted living and memory care units.
Azura Living is developing Azura Mukwonago, a 72-unit assisted living and memory care community in Mukwonago, Wis. Completion is expected by December 2025.
EUA served as main architect and McShane Construction Co. is the general contractor. The project includes three one-story buildings: two assisted living facilities connected by a hallway and one memory care building.
The Mukwonago Plan Commission and Village Board has recently approved the construction of the community, after The Village of Mukwonago Comprehensive Plan 2035 identified a need for senior housing in the area, as reported by The Freeman.

Azura Mukwonago will feature a fitness center, a spa, a salon, community rooms, dining rooms, sunrooms, a community garden, putting greens, bocce ball courts, an extensive courtyard and walking paths. Unit are set to include vaulted ceilings, large windows, resilient flooring, ceramic tile bathrooms and SMART cabinets, among others. The community will also feature generous outdoor spaces with planter beds and a 1,200-square-foot barn, which will be used for storage purposes.
Azura Mukwonago will rise on a 6.4-acre site south of Chapman Farm Boulevard, just west of Highway 83. Downtown Milwaukee is some 30 miles northeast.
A comprehensive portfolio
Since its inception 40 years ago, McShane has served as general contractor for numerous multifamily, commercial and institutional projects. The firm has recently completed the construction of a 100-unit affordable senior housing community in Doraville, Ga.
McShane also serves as general contractor for Bishops Woods, a 203-unit affordable community in Brookfield, Wis., that is expected to open in December 2025 as well. The developer, Lincoln Avenue Capital, started working on the project in June.
And this month, Lincoln and McShane wrapped up construction on a 70-unit affordable housing community in Madison, Wis. The property will cater to residents earning from 30 to 60 percent of the area median income, targeting especially veterans.
