Attracting Residents with Bike Sharing

Denville, N.J.—JMF Properties has tapped Zagster, a major provider in bike-sharing programs for the real estate industry, to offer bike sharing to the residents of Estling Village in Denville, N.J. The cruiser-style bikes will be available to residents by the hour or the day, giving them a non-motorized way to experience the town of Denville after the project opens later this summer.

To reserve a bike via Zagster’s Mobile App, riders enter the ID number of the bike they wish to use and an access code for the lock box. Riders can use the code of their rental to lock and unlock the bike anywhere along their trip. Once the bike is returned to a Zagster location, the rental is completed. Riders can join by downloading the Zagster Mobile App, available for iPhone and Android, or online.

Zagster is developing a national footprint of bike-sharing programs in partnership with various real estate companies, businesses, hotel chains and universities. Currently, the company deploys bikes in more than 30 cities and towns, asserting that it provides more programs to more real estate companies than any other bike-sharing provider.

Estling Village is a seven-acre development, with 100 one- and two-bedroom rental townhomes featuring attached and detached garages, a clubhouse and a fitness center. It’s also the first property in Morris County to offer Internet speeds up to 1 gigabyte a second.

The property is surrounded by common courtyards, green areas and it isn’t far from the Denville Train Station. At that location, there will be four bikes available to residents free of charge for up to a 24-hour period.
