Paris, France—The historic Astor Saint-Honoré hotel in Paris’ 8th arrondissement will soon join Curio – A Collection by Hilton, an upscale hotel brand first introduced in June 2014. The brand’s first property in the Parisian capital will undergo a major refurbishment prior to opening its doors in 2016, according to a news release.

Following refurbishment and upgrades, the six-story hotel will open under a franchise between Hilton Worldwide and owner Maranatha Group and will feature 128 guest rooms and suites. The Astor Saint-Honoré will be the third Curio-branded property in Europe, following the recently announced Reichshof Hamburg and Rumeli Han Istanbul.

“We’re embarking on an exciting renovation programme which will preserve and restore this important Parisian landmark for future generations under Curio – A Collection by Hilton,” said Olivier Carvin, Maranatha Group CEO. “Hilton Worldwide’s unparalleled distribution capabilities and customer base will allow us to maintain the hotel’s unique charm whilst benefiting from global distribution.”

Located at 11 Rue d’Astorg in the 8th arrondissement, the Astor hotel was built in 1907 by Lord John Jacob Astor, also responsible for the former Astoria Hotel—now the Waldorf Astoria – in New York City. The hotel is conveniently located in very close proximity to the Opéra Garnier, Champs-Elysées and the fashionable Faubourg Saint-Honoré.

Curio – A Collection by Hilton includes properties such as the SLS Las Vegas Hotel & Casino and the LondonHouse hotel in Chicago. The brand is planning to expand its portfolio with properties in Texas, South Dakota, North Carolina and Oregon.
