Atlanta—Assurant Specialty Property, a provider of renters insurance and security deposit alternatives, has launched a new online portal for multifamily housing providers with less than 3,000 units to easily implement an insurance requirement within their lease agreements.
MyRentersProgram.com is an online portal that allows owners to connect directly with Assurant Specialty Property and apply for the program. Once an application is reviewed and accepted, Assurant Specialty Property will provide marketing and training materials that managers need to implement the program in their communities immediately.
Implementing an insurance requirement within a lease agreement mitigates risk and reduces expenses. If a resident damages their unit as a result of fire, smoke, explosion or water, the resident’s insurance policy pays for damage to any affected unit, as well as affected neighbors’ personal belongings, up to the policy limit.
