Montreal, Canada—DevMcGill has launched the redevelopment of the Arts Court in Ottawa, a mega project that will incorporate an expansion of the Ottawa Art Gallery, a new theater, luxury condominiums and a hotel.
The entire development entails an investment of about $76.4 million ($100 million CAD), the Ottawa Citizen reported.
Plans call for a 23-story high-rise that will include an elegant Hôtel Le Germain and the expanded gallery on the lower floors, as well as 100 refined living spaces from the 15th to 23rd floor. The new 63,000-square foot (5,860-square-meter) theater will be built as a separate structure adjacent to the new tower.
Construction on the project is currently under way, with completion set for 2017.
“The residences, which will be available for purchase in the coming months, will offer ultra-modern architecture, clean, minimalist lines, and incomparable views of the city,” Stéphane Côté, president of DevMcGill, said. “Located in the heart of Ottawa on Waller Street, this ambitious project is the ideal introduction of our condominiums outside of Montreal. Far from the noise and comfortably ensconced above the downtown district, residents will have quick access to the dynamism and culturally rich ByWard Market. It’s the best of both worlds.”
DevMcGill has been a pillar of real estate development in Montreal for almost 20 years.
