ARA Newmark Gets Senior Managing Director in Austin Office
Matthew Day has more than 16 years of commercial real estate experience. In his new role he will oversee the company’s multifamily investments across Central Texas.

ARA Newmark has hired multi-housing expert Matthew Day as senior managing director in the company’s Austin office. He joins a team of 26 specialists led by Vice Chairman Patton Jones. Day will be responsible for originating and managing multifamily sales across Central Texas.
Matthew Day held leadership roles at Fogelman Properties, Steadfast Companies, Wentwood Capital, Fortress and Greystar. Since 2012, he has closed 31 deals in Texas totaling $1.1 billion. His experience includes handling dispositions, debt restructuring, tax return and auditing, general partner/limited partner resolutions of Low-Income Housing Tax Credits and conventional properties.
“We’ve known and worked with Matthew for years and his transaction experience and market knowledge are invaluable. The buy-side expertise he brings to the team will help us better serve our clients and increase our transaction volume capacity”, Jones said in a prepared statement.
Day earned his MBA at the New York Institute of Technology and his bachelor’s degree at Texas State University. He is a supporter of Wonders & Worries, an Austin-based nonprofit organization that provides professional assistance for children through a parent’s illness.
