American Society of Radiologic of Technologists Debuts $8.5M Expansion
In October 2011, The American Society of Radiologic Technologists was announcing the incipient stages of renovation of its Albuquerque office. The construction project included the addition of 30,000 square feet to the existing building.

The American Society of Radiologic Technologists celebrated its 30th anniversary by unveiling the completion of a $8.5 million renovation of its Albuquerque office. The construction project included the addition of 30,000 square feet to the existing building. 
At an event attended by about 600 attendees, CEO Sal Martino stated that local travel agencies, printing companies, landscapers, accounting firms, as well as the University of Albuquerque and the city’s hospitals and radiology practices, have supported the institution.
The four-story renovated building now includes a video recording and editing studio designed for ASRT’ continuing education courses. More space for its growing staff is also part of the expansion.
A highlight of the renovated space was a 7,500-square-foot museum dedicated to collecting, preserving and sharing the history of this science profession. Nineteen months later, ABQ Journal reports that the museum will be 4,400 square feet, with completion date in 2015.
ASRT is the premier professional association of people working in medical imaging and radiation therapy. Its membership grew by 55 percent in the last decade, from 92,000 members to 143,000, and staff size increased by 34 percent, from 82 to 120 employees. The Albuquerque headquarter is almost four times bigger now than it was in 1983 when the organization relocated from Chicago, encompassing 80,000 square feet.
